8:20 AM: Good morning, Browns fans. It’s cutdown day! Based on the reported moves from Friday, Cleveland should be down to 73 players that we know of (in reality, they may have informed their players of more moves). That means we should be hearing about 20 more roster moves today.
5:00 PM (Friday): Per Adam Caplan of ESPN, the Browns are waiving second-year cornerback Charles Gaines. Up until this morning, I had Gaines on my 53-man roster. A poor showing against the Bears changed that.
#Browns informed 2015 6th-round pick CB Charles Gaines that they are going to waive him, source said.

4:15 PM (Friday): The team confirmed the signing of DL Stephen Paea. The corresponding roster move at the time was that they waived/injured RB Raijon Neal, who was carted off with a quad injury against the Bears. If nobody claims him, he’ll revert to the team’s injured reserve list until he’s healthy, before being released.

2:45 PM (Friday): The Browns parted ways with DB Pierre Desir, per his agent. Desir was a fourth-round pick in 2014 by the Browns. He started off as a cornerback, but the new coaching staff this offseason switched him to safety, where he never really had an opportunity to make a splash.
11:06 AM (Friday): The Browns added DL Stephen Paea to their roster. A second-round pick by the Bears in 2011, can play in either a 3-4 or a 4-3 defense. He signed a four-year deal with the Buccaneers last year, but wasn’t a good fit for their team. The team tried to fulfill the veteran void with DL Nick Hayden earlier in camp, but he didn’t cut it and was waived last week.
