The Miami Dolphins received the ball to begin the game, and Cleveland’s defense got off to a great start when CB Jamar Taylor picked off the first pass thrown by QB Ryan Tannehill. Starting with great field position, Kessler’s first drive included a false start before a play could be run, and then a third down fumble where he looked lost. The Dolphins quickly drove down the field, finishing the drive with a 26-yard touchdown pass to WR DeVante Parker.
On Cleveland’s second drive, they moved the ball pretty well thanks to a couple of plays by WR Terrelle Pryor, including a 26-yard pass to TE Gary Barnidge. The drive stalled, though, and new K Cody Parkey made a bad first impression by missing his attempt from 41 yards out.
Cleveland had the ball again and were on the move near the end of the first quarter, and then RB Duke Johnson went down as he was tackled awkwardly. The Browns are still on the move as we head to the second quarter of play.
