The Browns got in range for a 46-yard field goal at the beginning of the second quarter, and this time, K Cody Parkey drilled it to make it a 7-3 game. After trading a couple of punts, the Dolphins had the ball again and faced a third down. Cleveland showed a semi-exotic pre-snap look.
After the snap, DE Tyrone Holmes got pressure and forced QB Ryan Tannehill into a poor decision, as he lobbed the ball right to CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun, who took it 27 yards for a pick six and a 10-7 lead for Cleveland! What is remarkable is that both Holmes and Boddy-Calhoun were waiver wire pickups by the Browns heading into the regular season, coming over from Jacksonville.
At the two-minute mark, the Dolphins kicked a 37-yard field goal to tie the game at 10-10. Kessler helped lead the offense downfield for a 48-yard field goal attempt by K Cody Parkey, which he again drilled to give the Browns a 13-10 lead. Cleveland will get the ball to begin the third quarter.
