Continuing to show the type of warrior he is, Ian Rapoport reports this morning that Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown fought to play through the pain with his left shoulder harnessed against the Miami Dolphins, but the team understandably said “no.”
#Browns QB Josh McCown is a tough dude. He fought to harness the left shoulder and play today, even with the pain. Team said no.

Rapoport was also the first person to present a timetable for the veteran quarterback’s return to action, which is actually sooner rather than later.
#Browns QB Josh McCown’s timeframe for recovery from a painful strain & hairline crack in his non-throwing shoulder is 2-4 weeks, per source

It is unclear whether that timetable is as of today, or began last week after the injury. If we’re being optimistic, though, it sounds like he might have a chance to return for the team’s Week 5 matchup against the New England Patriots, which would be nice given the hyped returns of Tom Brady and Josh Gordon from suspension.
