Earlier today, the Cleveland Browns claimed five players off waivers. We were waiting for the team’s corresponding roster moves, and now they are in, with a couple of surprises.
BROWNS PLAYERS WAIVED
- RB Terrell Watson
- RB Raheem Mostert
- OLB Cam Johnson
- CB Trey Caldwell
BROWNS PLAYERS TERMINATED
- S Rahim Moore
The biggest surprise on the list was the removal of Watson, a power-running back who had been third on the depth chart all camp. With the removal of both he and Mostert, the team must really like George Atkinson to make him the only option behind split-starters Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson.
Caldwell is the team’s only draft pick out of 14 players who is no longer on the 53-man roster. A fifth-round pick, he was injured almost all of camp with a hamstring issue. The team could be looking to get him on the practice squad. With Moore’s departure at safety, Don Jones’ spot as the new Marlon Moore special teamer (or maybe Johnson Bademosi would be a better comparison) is solidified.
