The Falcons had the best offense among playoff contenders this year, and was tops in the NFL in terms of points at an average of 33.8 per game. One of the teams the Falcons fell to this season was the Seahawks, but that came in Seattle and required a comeback. The Falcons’ defense doesn’t play lights out, but they aren’t a completely vulnerable unit like the Saints would be.
Seattle has been an inconsistent beast this year — we’ve seen them with a few dominant games, we’ve seen them play like complete crap for 55 minutes before scoring two touchdowns in the final five minutes, and we’ve seen them flat out lose. The inconsistency of the flow of their games from week-to-week compels me to pick the Falcons, as Matt Ryan will finally get to make a deep run in the postseason. Falcons 34, Seahawks 20
