With the news that Ray Horton, Pep Hamilton, and others could be on the way out, one may wonder about the team having been selected to coach the Senior Bowl. If you recall, “keeping the coaching staff in tact” was one of the criteria for coaching the week’s festivities. That’s why the San Francisco 49ers were passed up in favor of the Chicago Bears.
Losing two of your top defensive assistants doesn’t exactly scream that you’re “keeping things in tact.” Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, among others, wondered what type of impact it might have:
Wonder how this #Browns staff shakeup will impact Sr Bowl. Losing teams invited to coach "only if a majority of staff & head coach intact''

In turn, Phil Savage weighed in on Twitter, insinuating that there wouldn’t be an issue as long as the changes wouldn’t put the club in a state of disarray:
@alexmarvez @MaryKayCabot NFL determines coaches, typically w/ assurance that any changes won't compromise staff for practice/game.

Senior Bowl week is from January 24-28. Odds are that the Browns would have a defensive coordinator in place by then, and if Hamilton decides to leave, Hue Jackson can work to evaluate the quarterbacks.
