NFL Wildcard Playoffs: Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks

Detroit Lions v Seattle Seahawks

The Lions ended the season with three straight losses, dropping out of the NFC North lead and in essence "backing in" to the postseason. Some of their offensive issues have come up recently with QB Matthew Stafford's finger injury. During their five-game winning streak prior to that, the defense was allowing 15.6 points per game. None of those five games were against playoff contenders, though. They allowed an average of 30 points per game in the final three games of the season, and all three of those games were against NFC playoff teams.

Seattle has been a little cold heading into the playoffs, but Detroit has been worse off and is facing an uphill battle on the road with the crowd noise. The Lions have basically lost three straight elimination games, and this is the fourth one in a row. Seattle gets the edge here with all their playoff experience, but I don’t think they are playing well enough to make it past another round. They could really use a shutout/blowout type of win here to elevate their confidence and give them some momentum. Seahawks 24, Lions 13
