PFT: Josh Gordon hasn’t applied for reinstatement yet

It doesn’t sound like the Browns will be gift-wrapped a star receiver any time soon.

On Monday, news surfaced that Josh Gordon was in Downtown Cleveland. It started with someone noting he was on their plane from Orlando to Cleveland, then continued to someone tweeting that they had given him an Uber ride to his Downtown hotel. Before long, he was spotted walking the streets of Downtown Cleveland.

We don’t quite know what Gordon was doing in Cleveland, but for now, it doesn’t seem to be related to him getting back into the NFL. Tuesday afternoon, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that a league source told him Gordon “has not yet applied for reinstatement to the NFL.”

So if you want to think about how far away the league’s next decision on Gordon is, he has to apply, and then the league can take an undetermined amount of time to make a decision...and that decision also hinges on Gordon adhering to all their requirements, something he hasn’t been able to do very often.
