Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Cleveland Browns announced that they’ve signed WR C.J. Board to the practice squad. To make room for Board, WR Kasen Williams was placed on the practice squad/injured list with a knee injury.
Board (6-0, 181 lbs) was originally an undrafted free agent signed by the Baltimore Ravens during training camp. During the preseason for Baltimore, Board caught 2 passes for 56 yards. He also spent some time on the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad this year.
In an unrelated move, the Denver Broncos appear to have signed former Browns receiver Jordan Leslie to their 53-man roster. It sounds like Leslie had some offers to sign future/reserve contracts after the season ended, but was holding out hope that he’d get an opportunity for Week 17. Leslie had one of the NFL’s best catches of the regular season, but suffered an injury after that and was let go by the Browns.
Welcome back, Jordan Leslie. Heckuva way to make your first NFL catch. pic.twitter.com/OA1wSuWLPb
