When the Cleveland Browns lost to Landry Jones and the Pittsburgh Steelers to end the 2016 season, head coach Hue Jackson said, “We’re not going 1-15 next year. You can write it if you like. Hue Jackson said it. It's the way it is.”
Flashforward to one year later, and Hue was right -- the Browns didn’t go 1-15. They went 0-16, again losing to Jones and the Steelers’ backups. But earlier in the week, Jackson was asked if he’d still jump in the lake, and he said, “Heck yeah. I have to.”
Jackson did say that it will be at his convenience, so don’t be surprised if he waits until conditions are much warmer than they are now in Cleveland (i.e. it is supposed to feel like about -10 degrees on New Year’s Day). So if we’re waiting awhile, then that means this new “Jump in the Lake” t-shirt we’re bringing you will have some longevity to it!
The shirts start at $25 for most sizes. Get your t-shirt here, and let us know if you order one!
“Hopefully, I could get a lot of people to come out,” said Jackson. “It would be something that we are going to make special. I don’t like it. I don’t like to do it for the reason I am having to do it, but I have to make do on my word. I just think that is what you do. I do get that. I made a statement. I have to back it up. That is the type of person I am, so that is what we have to do.”
Jackson also said that it would be for The Hue Jackson Foundation, adding an element of charity to it.
