After drawing early free agency interest from four teams, former Cleveland Browns nickelback K’Waun Williams made the decision to sign with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday. In San Francisco, Williams will be re-united with former Browns defensive backs coach Jeff Hafley.
But Williams’ story with the Browns isn’t over quite yet. Throughout last season, we kept on hearing that he was going to file a grievance with the NFLPA regarding the team suspending and then cutting him while he was hurt. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, that grievance hearing will take place on May 16th in Cleveland. She says that Williams is “seeking his entire $600,000 base salary for 2016 and the cost of his ankle surgery.”
