Our preview on the Browns’ exclusive rights free agents begins with WR Dennis Parks.
How and When He Joined the Browns: Parks was an undrafted free agent in 2016 who initially signed with the Green Bay Packers, but was waived early in the offseason. Cleveland signed him in mid-May.
Productivity Level Last Season: He didn’t log any stats during the preseason, and was waived-injured toward the end of August with a knee injury. After clearing waivers, he reverted to the team’s IR list.
Why Keeping Him Could Make Sense: He has some good size at 6-2, 201 lbs.
What the Browns Should Do: I would not tender Parks, who would cost $540,000. Even though Cleveland still has a bunch of question marks at the receiver position (Rashard Higgins, Ricardo Louis, and Jordan Payton), they already re-signed a different ERFA in Rannell Hall. Undrafted free agents from 2017 will take Parks’ roster spot.
