Teams can begin cutting players today, and one of the first moves made involved a former member of the Cleveland Browns as the Pittsburgh Steelers cut CB Justin Gilbert:
The other 30 teams not in the Super Bowl could begin cutting today (roster freeze lifted). CB Justin Gilbert was waived by the #Steelers.

Gilbert, a first-round pick by the Browns in 2014, was shipped to the Steelers at the start of the season for a sixth-round pick. Gilbert only saw action as a kick returner for Pittsburgh, and my assumption was that the coaching staff would try to work with him this offseason to see if he can help them at cornerback. Browns LT Joe Thomas offered some insight upon learning of the news:
If you don't like football, it doesn't matter how talented you are, your star will burn out quick. https://t.co/r7PfDSTljL
