Todd McShay's 2017 NFL Mock Draft 3.0: Post-Combine, Browns stay DE and QB

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Todd McShay released his third mock draft of the year. To compare, here is who he had the Cleveland Browns taking in his first two mock drafts:

McShay 1.0: DE Jonathan Allen, OLB Takkarist McKinley
McShay 2.0: DE Myles Garrett, QB Mitchell Trubisky

There should be no doubt in any of these mock drafts now that the Browns will be sticking with Garrett at No. 1 overall, which McShay stayed the course with:

1. Cleveland Browns, 1-15

Myles Garrett, OLB/DE, Texas A&M

The Browns shouldn't overthink this: Garrett is the best pure pass-rusher -- and one of the best overall athletes -- in the draft. His freakish combine numbers (4.64 40-yard dash and a 41-inch vertical at 272 pounds) cemented his status as the No. 1 overall pick, in my opinion. Garrett can fit into any scheme. He's a transcendent-type player.

This is McShay’s first mock draft following the NFL Combine, and he decided to mix things up for the team at No. 12 overall. Instead of going with Trubisky, he has Cleveland taking QB DeShaun Watson and all 49 MPH of his throws.

12. Cleveland Browns, 1-15 (from Eagles)

Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

I'm not convinced Cleveland will use this pick on a quarterback, but it would make some sense, especially after landing Garrett at No. 1 overall. Watson will need time adjust to a pro-style system, but he has the tools to grow into a good starter in the NFL if developed and utilized properly.

Trubisky is the only other quarterback that McShay has going in the first round, and it is to the Texans at No. 25 overall.
