Safeties have been stiffing the Cleveland Browns left and right in free agency...so does that mean they’ll try to get one near the top of the 2017 NFL Draft?
As evidenced by this timely photo of Lori Schmidt of 97.1 The Fan in Columbus, Hue Jackson was one of nine head coaches to attend Ohio State’s pro day on Thursday, and he spent some of that time embracing safety Malik Hooker.

I could’ve led with the headline of “Jackson seen hugging Hooker,” but thought better of it. On Twitter, Ben Axelrod from Land of 10 said, "Hue didn't appear to be around for long, so it's interesting in that time, he met with Malik." Elaborating a little further, Axelrod said, “He left like 5 minutes into the thing too, so it seems like he showed up just to meet with Malik.”
Hooker did not workout at the pro day, as he is still recovering from offseason surgery. Sashi Brown was reportedly not at the Buckeyes’ pro day, but the level of interest league-wide was exceptionally high:
Every NFL team (122 representatives in total) was at the Ohio State pro day today. 79 media members were credentialed. Press releases, yay!

One last nugget comes from Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland. When asked who the Browns (presumably their scouts) were following during the pro day, he referenced the Buckeyes’ cornerbacks and WR Curtis Samuel.
CBs, Curtis Samuel. https://t.co/XuE4KaDUyh
