As first reported by Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, the Cleveland Browns are re-signing OL Matt McCants.
After John Greco went on IR last November, the team signed McCants, a veteran offensive tackle who had been with the Raiders since 2013 and was originally a sixth-round draft pick in 2012 by the Giants. At 6-5, 309 lbs, McCants has started 3 games in his NFL career, all coming in 2013.
Cleveland had waived McCants in early December, but perhaps Cleveland still needs a veteran offensive lineman for their upcoming offseason programs if Joel Bitonio and/or John Greco are still taking it easy as they return from injury.
