According to Kristian Dyer of the Sporting News, the Cleveland Browns were among the teams who recently held a private workout with Virginia Tech defensive back Chuck Clark.
Clark is projected to be a 6th or 7th round pick by Dane Brugler of CBS Sports. He played both cornerback and safety in college, but is expected to be viewed as a safety heading into the draft. Here is what Brugler had to say about him:
Clark is football smart with the spatial instincts and play speed to routinely be in the vicinity vs. both the pass and the run. However, he wasn’t a playmaker with the ball in the air and needs to improve his discipline as a high-to-low tackler. Overall, Clark doesn’t have an elite trait that he can truly rely on, but he is a well-rounded player who can see defensive snaps in the NFL if he improves his consistency – experienced on special teams, which will help him compete for a roster spot.
