According to Eric Edholm of Yahoo Sports, Connecticut safety Obi Melifonwu was in Cleveland on Friday as the team hosted him as one of their pre-draft visits.

Melifonwu is projected to be a 3rd round pick by Dane Bruglar of CBS Sports. Bruglar praised his physical nature and defense against the run, but questioned his instincts in coverage:

He is an impressive physical specimen with his combination of athletic movements, core strength and size dimensions. While a reliable run defender with the tackle production that stands out on tape, he is too cautious in coverage with below average anticipation, waiting until the play unfolds before reacting. A unique size/speed athlete, Melifonwu is still figuring things out mentally, but has a chance to be an impact starter in the NFL if he quickens his trigger – day two draft pick, who will likely be overdrafted due to his physical skill-set.
