Following up on our Day 1 recap of Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp, on Saturday a Browns spokesman announced that SS Jabrill Peppers has signed his participation agreement. That will allow him to fully participate in practices on Saturday and Sunday.
Per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, the agreement “promises players who have yet to sign their contracts that their deals will be honored in the event of injury.” It is still unclear why Peppers’ agent advised his client not to sign the agreement like the other nine draft picks did prior to Friday’s practice. However, you’d have to imagine that it’s not anything drug-related, as one day would figure to be unlikely to make a difference.
UPDATE: Quotes from Peppers are below:
Peppers said it was an oversight, talked to agents yesterday to get it corrected & made sure he was on the field today https://t.co/Y0tJEMSFF4
