On Monday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they waived OG Josh Boutte, who was one of the 11 undrafted free agents the team signed following the draft.
Boutte was known for his massive size at 6-4, 351 lbs. Pro Football Focus had also highlighted him as their 41st best undrafted free agent after the 2017 NFL Draft had concluded, citing how it was difficult for defenders to move him. With the waiving of Boutte, the Browns have an even more disproportionate number of defensive compared to offensive UDFAs. The only offensive UDFA on the roster is TE Taylor McNamara.
As far as the guard position goes, Cleveland figures to be in good shape there for years to come with Joel Bitonio and Kevin Zeitler starting, and then John Greco and Spencer Drango available as reserves.
