On Friday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they claimed OL Chris Barker off waivers from the New England Patriots. To make room for the move, the club waived DL Gabe Wright.
Barker (6-2, 305 lbs) was originally an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins in 2013. After spending camp with the Dolphins, he didn’t make the final roster but was claimed by the Patriots. From 2013-2016, he bounced between the team’s roster and practice squad many times. He’s played in 6 games in his career, but has never started a game. He’s considered a guard.
Wright bounced between the Browns’ roster and practice squad last year, but with the team drafting Larry Ogunjobi and Caleb Brantley this year, he would’ve been pretty far down the depth chart.
