Browns fans slightly lean toward Cody Kessler remaining opening day QB

The second-year quarterback is the leader of the pack...but only by a little.

NFL: Cleveland Browns-Minicamp Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

During our training camp preview on the quarterback position for the Cleveland Browns, we asked two poll questions about the starting job heading into Week 1.

In Part 1 of our preview, we asked about who fans think will start if the competition came down to being exclusively between Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler. As you can see below, the results were much closer than I anticipated. After nearly 2,000 votes, 53% of fans would put money on Kessler starting, with 47% placing their wager on Osweiler.

In Part 2 of our preview, we introduced rookie DeShone Kizer into the mix, expanding the question to three quarterbacks now. The support for Kessler (56%) remained relatively the same. Only 10% of fans picked Kizer, which was lower than I expected, but most of that was removed from Osweiler’s camp as he only had 35% of the votes.
