During our training camp preview on the tight end position for the Cleveland Browns, we asked three poll questions to fans.
In Part 1 of our TE preview, we asked two questions related to projected productivity for the team’s top two receiving tight ends. First, we started with David Njoku, where fans 71% of fans believe he’ll have an good/average type of season receiving-wise as a rookie — for example, around 600 yards, which would be on par with what veteran tight end Gary Barnidge logged a year ago. 27% believe he can be the offensive MVP of the club and get near 1,000 yards receiving, and just 2% believe he’ll be a disappointment.
Poll
What type of rookie season do you think David Njoku will have?

-
26%
He’ll thrive and/or establish himself as an offensive MVP (from a receiving perspective — i.e. 1000 yards)
-
71%
He’ll have some good/promising plays mixed in, but more like an average season productivity wise (i.e. 600 yards).
-
2%
He’ll be a disappointment as a rookie.
The expectation is that Seth DeValve is improved this offseason and expected to see a much bigger and trusted role in the offense. 58% of fans think he'll have around 400 yards, while 37% believe he'll get 600+ yards. Last year, he only had 127 yards receiving, so either of those projections would be a pretty big leap for a No. 2 tight end. That shows how much of a factor fans think our tight ends will be, in part due to a weaker wide receiver group.

In Part 2 of our TE preview, we asked which of the remaining three tight ends you thought would make the roster (if only one of them could make it). Taylor McNamara led the way with 55% of the votes, followed by Randall Telfer (42%) and J.P. Holtz (3%).
