Last week, we saw some of the hard work that Cleveland Browns nose tackle Danny Shelton has been putting in this summer, in preparation for the start of training camp later this week. He's also up to other things, though, as he was named an honorary team captain for the 2018 Polynesian Bowl.

Per the press release, the Polynesian Bowl “is a premier high school football all-star game featuring 100 of the world’s elite football players.” The game will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Aloha Stadium on O’ahu, Hawaii during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend.

Joining Shelton as another team captain is DeForest Buckner of the San Francisco 49ers. At the end of last season, Shelton was also one of five players up for the Polynesian Pro Football Player of the Year, which recognizes the most outstanding professional football player of Polynesian ancestry. The honor ended up going to Titans QB Marcus Mariota.
