At this point, it feels weird to even think about the fact that “Robert Griffin III as the Cleveland Browns quarterback” was the topic of conversation heading into camp around this time a year ago. The team released Griffin in March, and since then, he’s been a free agent. With training camps about to start in the NFL, though, he’s trying to find a team to take him in, starting with the Los Angeles Chargers:
RGIII scheduled to work out Tuesday for LA Chargers, per league source. Been training in Florida with former Browns asst. Pep Hamilton.

As Adam Schefter noted, Griffin has been training with former Browns assistant Pep Hamilton in Florida. Back in January, Hamilton made the surprising move to leave Hue Jackson and go join Michigan at the college ranks, which makes it all-the-more-unusual that he’s still spending time working with and vouching for an NFL player.
Spoke with Pep Hamilton, who has been working with RGIII. Emphasized how healthy Griffin has been, say ball is flying out of his hand.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network also made mention that Hamilton suggested that because Chargers new head coach Anthony Lynn worked well with a mobile quarterback in Tyrod Taylor last year in Buffalo, that he might want to have a guy like RGIII be Philip Rivers’ backup. We’ll loosely continue to monitor where the Browns former quarterback ends up.
