On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they have waived OL Chris Barker with an injury designation. Barker has been in the NFL since 2013, spending most of his career on-and-off the Patriots' roster as a reserve. He was carted off during Saturday’s practice after suffering an Achilles injury, and will revert to injured reserve if no one claims him.
Taking his roster spot is OL Kitt O’Brien (6-5, 325 lbs). Britt was originally an undrafted free agent in 2015 who signed with the Indianapolis Colts, and he’s spent portions of the past two years on their practice squad. He also has some experience playing in Cleveland as a member of the Arena Football League’s Gladiators (from 2013-2014).
O’Brien is an offensive guard, but he’s expected to serve as an extra body in camp to play with the third-team offense, with an outside shot at making the practice squad.
