Brock Osweiler’s job just got a whole lot harder in the preseason opener.
The Cleveland Browns announced that the team will not play starting left tackle Joe Thomas against the New Orleans Saints. It doesn’t come as a surprise, and it’s something I thought might happen due to the club giving him the veteran respect of only practicing every other day. He has nothing to prove, but I thought he still might get one series against the Saints.
Instead, Cameron Erving will start at left tackle for Thomas. As far as the other players who are out go, we had already mentioned most of them in our preview for the game on Wednesday. There is one other new injury that popped up, and it’s DE Cam Johnson, who is out with a knee injury.
