-The game will mark the first preseason Monday Night Football game in Cleveland since 1992. The last time these teams met in the preseason was on August 18, 2008, in New York, with the Browns winning 37-34. The winning score was an 8-yard touchdown pass from QB Ken Dorsey to WR Lance Leggett. WR Syndric Steptoe had two touchdowns in that game.
-Former Browns on the Giants include RB Shaun Draughn (2014-2015), OL Michael Bowie (2014-2015), and QB Josh Johnson (2012). Former Giants on the Browns include OL Matt McCants (2012) and S Justin Currie (2015).

-These two teams last squared off on November 27, 2016, when the Giants defeated the Browns 27-13. A touchdown pass from QB Josh McCown to WR Corey Coleman made it a 20-13 game part-way into the fourth quarter, but the Giants sealed it with a 4-yard touchdown pass from QB Eli Manning to WR Odell Beckham.
