The Browns got off to a great start defensively against the Giants, forcing a three-and-out that included a third down sack by LB Joe Schobert on QB Eli Manning. A 30+ yard punt return by SS Jabrill Peppers set up the offense nicely for QB Brock Osweiler. But after picking up a couple of first downs, Osweiler had a pass in the red zone tipped at the line of scrimmage by DL Olivier Vernon, and then picked by DE Jason Pierre-Paul.
Cleveland’s defense came up with another three-and-out stop, although CB Joe Haden was beaten by WR Brandon Marshall on third down. The Browns couldn’t muster a score on their next drive, having to punt after one first down.
The Browns got another stop, and then just like that, it was already time for QB DeShone Kizer. It’s 0-0 heading to the second quarter.
