Weather and thunderstorms could impact Browns’ preseason game against Buccaneers

We could be in store for a very ugly game weather-wise.

The Cleveland Browns are getting ready for their most important preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and especially the opportunity to evaluate rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer for at least one half. Unfortunately, as the game gets closer, it looks like the weather could impact the game.

The game is set to begin at 7:30 PM ET. If you look at Weather.com, the forecast is calling for scattered thunderstorms, and the high humidity will make it feel like it’s around 90 degrees. At least the winds won’t be so high.

Saturday afternoon, Bay News 9 Weather confirmed the chance for thunderstorms during the game, particularly during the first half when the starters would be seeing action.

But for the best weather report of all, we turn to Browns left tackle Joe Thomas, who is on site and jokes about the “unsafe working conditions and potential for drowning just breathing the air” with the 80-degree dew point.

I’m no expert on dew points, so I consulted the all-important Wikipedia, where it says the human perception of a dew point at or over 80 degrees is “extremely uncomfortable, oppressive, and even deadly for asthma-related illnesses.”

Dustin Fox of 92.3 the Fan is down in Tampa to assist with Browns coverage and echoed the “ugly conditions” that will not do Kizer any favors today.
