Browns cut WR Rashard Higgins, DL Tyrone Holmes, CB Darius Hillary, CB Marcus Burley, and FS Kai Nacua

The five moves were made to account for the team’s waiver claims earlier in the day.

On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns claimed 5 players off waivers. With those claims, though, they had to cut 5 more players from their roster.

BROWNS PLAYERS WAIVED

  • WR Rashard Higgins
  • DL Tyrone Holmes
  • CB Darius Hillary
  • FS Kai Nacua

BROWNS PLAYERS TERMINATED

  • CB Marcus Burley

The Browns also named 4 players to their practice squad, and it’d be logical to believe they’ll try to get Higgins, Holmes, Hillary, and Nacua on there if they all clear waivers.

Perhaps the biggest surprise, for now, is that the team is carrying four quarterbacks, as neither Cody Kessler nor Kevin Hogan were waived.

OT Rod Johnson was not placed on injured reserve, but the team is likely waiting until 4 PM ET on Sunday to make that move so he can be eligible to return this season.
