Back on Monday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported that the Cleveland Browns were among eight teams that have already scheduled pre-draft visits with Washington DT Vita Vea.

Despite trading DT Danny Shelton to the New England Patriots, Cleveland still might consider adding a rookie on a cheaper contract to complement the group of Larry Ogunjobi, Caleb Brantley, Jamie Meder, and Trevon Coley.
In terms of size, Vea would definitely be the biggest player on the Browns at 6-4, 340 lbs. Projected to be a first-round pick, the Browns would not take him with one of their picks in the Top 5, but he could be under consideration if he slips to the beginning of the second round or if a trade shakes up where Cleveland picks.
Back at the NFL Combine, Vea said that he believes he is versatile enough to play the 1-technique and the 3-technique:
“Over at Washington, you can put on the film. We played all across the line. It wasn’t one specific position that we were assigned to. If it was a D-line job or a D-line position, we were playing it.”
Funny enough, Vea played at the same college Shelton did (Washington). When asked if the two keep in touch, Vea said yes. In fact, Vea was a groomsman at Shelton’s wedding in February.
Would you be up for the Browns taking Vea with one of their early second-round picks? Or does the club have enough other needs to pass over a defensive tackle like Vea?
