The Colts have many needs and could almost any direction with this pick. The one position that is for sure is quarterback with Andrew Luck when healthy. Keeping Luck upright has been an issue for Indianapolis ever since they drafted him.

PFF considers Nelson the cleanest offensive line prospect they have seen in the last four years. His run blocking grade was a 96.4, which led all guards. He only allowed 5 pressures last year. I would love to give them a left tackle instead, but no tackle seems worth this pick.

Pokorny: “Indianapolis is stuck in a pickle. How certain can they be about Luck’s future, given his injuries? But try also selling the fanbase on another quarterback. This team has a lot of re-building to do. An offensive linemen won’t get fans too excited, but Nelson has a very high ceiling to be a top guard in the league before long. ”
