With the premiere edge rusher off the board, the Bears are still going defense to shore up their front seven. Offensive line is another position of potential need but the talent here is obvious. An active athletic linebacker to assist in shoring up their defense, this could be an All-Pro caliber puzzle piece.

Here is what the scouts have to say about his abilities: “Edmunds combines elite size, speed and explosiveness into a productive, versatile linebacker package that will have evaluators salivating. Edmunds has posted high-impact production over the last two seasons and he still has room to get bigger and better. He will make mental mistakes and his instincts are subpar, but he has an ability to mitigate those issues with his athletic ability. Edmunds can play in any alignment at any linebacker spot and has All-Pro potential no matter where he lands.”

Projected as in impact player, he will help shore up the Bears’ defense, and maybe get mentioned in the same breaths as Butkus and Urlacher in the future. He should be a significant part of re-creating the Monsters of the Midway, at least the Bears faithful hope so.

Pokorny: “lol, let’s not get ahead of ourselves with the Butkus and Urlacher comparisons. The Bears still have a lot of holes to fill, but after getting their quarterback last year and adding a couple of receivers in the offseason, I support the improvement at the linebacker position.”
