Carter is one of the prospects in this draft who seems to have flown under the radar, perhaps in part due to being the second best linebacker on his college team. He’s an athletic, rangy linebacker with absolutely ridiculous size for the position at 6’6”, 250 lbs, with 34 inch arms. He has the versatility to play in several different roles and thus be a true 3-down LB. He should compete for a starting position immediately at either OLB spot for the Saints, taking over for either AJ Klein or our own Craig Robertson.

Pokorny: “Aside from Lamar Jackson at No. 1 overall, this would be considered the biggest reach of the first round. But it’s also the type of thing you start to see around these picks. New Orleans does not own a second round pick, and the next time they’ll be on the clock is at No. 91 overall near the end of the third round. If Carter is a guy they like to improve their linebacking corp, they should go for him.”
