WOW! What a first round of the draft it was. Can you imagine the buzz all day on Friday if it actually goes down like that?

As the Browns start round 2, I quickly narrowed it to 3 options. The first was CB Josh Jackson – the highest rated player left on my board. Given the players already signed by the FO and the 4^th overall draft pick went to that position I moved on. Second up was RB, but my next 3 RB’s (Michel, Guice, and Jones) are all on the board and we have another picking coming up at #35 so I moved on from RB.

In the end the choice is Maurice Hurst, defensive tackle from the university up north that shall not be named. Hurst is a solid first round talent who dropped (or dropped off) of many boards due to a heart murmur. I am assuming that like Star Lotulelei the issue will not affect his career in the NFL and he will be a solid addition to the Browns D-line rotation.

Pokorny: “Cleveland had a strong defensive line rotation last year, but it was a bit unexpected. It is reasonable to think there will be some dropoff, and they already got rid of Danny Shelton. Hurst is a good fit to begin Day 2 if Cleveland is comfortable enough about his health issues and feel he’s the best player available with a day to stew about it.”
