The 2018 NFL Draft has concluded, but every year, it’s interesting to take a very early look at how the 2019 NFL Draft could turn out for your Cleveland Browns. Last year, Sam Darnold was mocked to the Browns, and that nearly came true.
Projections will change drastically over the course of a year, but for our early look, we turn to Dan Kadar of SB Nation and his 2019 mock draft. The Browns are projected to have the No. 1 picks, which is strictly based on win total odds form a sportsbook, so don’t get too hung up on thinking Cleveland will pick first overall for the third year in a row.
Kadar’s early feeling is that the Browns will be after a defensive tackle:
1. Cleveland Browns: Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
After trading Danny Shelton to the New England Patriots, the Browns could be in the market for a defensive tackle in 2019. Flip a coin on Lawrence and Ed Oliver of Houston. A left tackle will also be considered by the Browns if second-round pick Austin Corbett struggles on the outside.
What do you think, Browns fans? If Cleveland hypothetically had the top pick again next year, would you be in favor of them drafting DT Dexter Lawrence, or do you have another prospect in mind?
