NFL? CFL? XFL? Now we know where Johnny Manziel’s next stop in professional football will be, and it is with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. He says that he is “very grateful for everyone that has been supporting him along the way” and that he believes this is “the best opportunity for him moving forward.”

Manziel will report to training camp this week, and the decision to sign a two-year deal with the CFL represents a mental commitment that he’s not getting back to the NFL (if ever) for awhile. The earliest he would be able to sign with an NFL team is late 2019, which basically means the 2020 season.
Best of luck to the former Cleveland Browns quarterback as he tries to get his life back on track.
