Browns announce several promotions in personnel department

Along with the confirmation of some changes reported last week.

NFL: Combine Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, we reported on more than a handful of departures from the Cleveland Browns’ front office, as well as the addition of Steve Malin as the team’s new Director of College Scouting. Today, the team officially confirmed those moves, while also announcing the following other changes:

  • Chris Cooper was promoted to Vice President of Football Administration. He has served as the team’s Director of Football Administration for the past five years. The press release gives Cooper credit for negotiating many of the team’s contracts, whether it be contract extensions or signing free agents.
  • Brandon Sosna was promoted to Salary Cap Analyst. He is entering his second year with the club after being an intern in 2017.
  • Scott Kaniecki is changing roles. Formerly a Scouting Assistant, he will now be a Defensive Quality Control Coach. He was hired to Cleveland’s personnel department in 2015.
