With rookie minicamp coming to a conclusion on Sunday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they have signed 2 of the 28 players who were invited for tryouts. The lucky individuals were TE Julian Allen and DL Lenny Jones.
Allen (6-3, 245 lbs) played college most recently at Southern Mississippi, where he logged 22 catches for 298 yards over the past two years. He was graded as the 35th-ranked tight end by Dane Brugler of NFL Draft Scout.
Jones (6-2, 256 lbs) is one of two players who were on a tryout but were not rookies technically. He was an undrafted free agent in 2016 out of Nevada, and spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Dallas Cowboys.
The Browns’ roster should be at 89 players by my count.
