Browns’ rookies take part in youth football camp before summer break

Denzel Ward also talks about who he’ll get to match up against in training camp.

Last week, when mandatory minicamp concluded, all of the Browns’ veterans got to begin their “summer break.” But the rookies still had one more order of business on their itinerary — participating in the Cleveland Browns Football Camp at FirstEnergy Stadium.

It has become an annual tradition where the rookies talk to and get involved in on-field activities with youth. This year’s event took place on Friday, June 15.

CB Denzel Ward talked about loving doing these types of things, because when he was a kid, he looked up to NFL players so much. He’s also really looking forward to getting to go up against receiving talents like WR Josh Gordon and WR Jarvis Landry in practices come training camp:

GM John Dorsey even figured out how to use a phone! It’s never too early to start scouting talent, right?
