During our training camp preview on the running position for the Cleveland Browns, we asked four poll questions about the expectations for several players.
In Part 1 of our preview, we asked about who fans thought would lead the team in rushing yards. Duke Johnson received almost no support with just 4% of the votes. In one of the closer poll results I’ve seen, the rest of the votes were split very evenly among the other two backs. Rookie Nick Chubb took the crown with 50% of the votes, but Carlos Hyde wasn’t far behind with 4%.

We also ran a bit of a “Part 1B” preview, which focused on whether Duke Johnson will be able to break the receptions record he set last year. 70% of fans believe he will finish with 50-74 receptions — which is still a lot, but would not break his record of 74 receptions set a year ago. Only 8% think he will break the record, while 22% think he’ll fall short of 50 receptions. That latter group might be the most accurate, actually, if Jarvis Landry’s catches start to pile up quickly.

In Part 2 of our preview, we wanted to know if you felt the team would carry four running backs on the roster, and if so, who would it be between Matthew Dayes and Dontrell Hilliard? The numbers game was pretty even; 54% think Cleveland will only carry three running backs, while 46% think they’ll carry four. Of those fans who think the Browns will carry four, 79% think the fourth back will be Dayes.
