According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Cleveland Browns were one of three teams to conduct an interview with former Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin. Most recently, Philbin served as offensive coordinator and interim head coach for the Green Bay Packers.
As Pro Football Talk points out, it is unknown what position Philbin interviewed for with the Browns. His background is in working with the offensive line, but Cleveland already hired James Campen the other day to be their offensive line coach/assistant head coach to Freddie Kitchens.
With Philbin’s experience, I expect him to get a more prominent role elsewhere, rather than settling for a less prominent assistant role in Cleveland. Nonetheless, it’ll be curious to hear what position he did interview for.
