The AFC Championship Game brings the second rematch of the day as the Kansas City Chiefs host the New England Patriots.
The teams met on October 15 as the Patriots raced out to a 24-9 lead at halftime, only to see the Chiefs roar back to tie the game at 40 following a 75-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes to Tyreek Hill with a little more than three minutes remaining in the game.
The Patriots ultimately pulled out a 43-40 win as Stephen Gostkowski hit a 28-yard field goal as time expired.
The Chiefs have made two previous trips to the Super Bowl, losing to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl I and defeating the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. Today marks their first appearance in the AFC Championship Game since 1994, when the lost to the Buffalo Bills.
As for the Patriots, they are looking to claim a berth in the Super Bowl for the 11th time in franchise history. If they win today, the Patriots will be the first team to lose the Super Bowl and then make it back the following season since the same Bills team that defeated the Chiefs in the 1994 conference title game.
Browns fans should use this as an open thread to discuss the game.
