On Monday, the Cleveland Browns announced that they were waiving linebacker Tanner Vallejo. Vallejo played in 13 games with the Browns last year, logging 20 tackles and 1 forced fumble. There were a couple of stretches where he stood out for making some sound tackles, but he was placed on injured reserve heading into the final game of the year.
The crazy news, though, is the number of teams that put in a claim for Vallejo: six teams in total, including one playoff team. Ultimately, the Arizona Cardinals were the team that landed him, thanks to having the top waiver priority.
The teams who attempted to claim Vallejo: #AZCardinals, #Jets, #Giants, #Bengals, #Vikings, #Chargers. A lot. https://t.co/52MSIAxw2b

If you’re going to get waived by one team, then I guess it offers some comfort knowing their is a pretty heavy market out there for you if your new team moves on from you too.
