Welcome to Day 3 of free agency for the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL! Day 2 did not really bring any new signings to Cleveland, although we had some players arrive to Berea, as well as GM John Dorsey speak. We are wondering who the mystery person was who was walking around Berea, though — could we get answers today?
This thread will act as a “live blog” of sorts, with brief but important updates about the latest rumors, signings, or trades involving Cleveland or other NFL teams. You should also use the comments section as your free agency open thread! (Newest updates will be at the top of the live blog below)
2019 Browns Free Agency Live Blog - Day 3
6:20 PM: It’s happening again to the Chiefs. Could Kansas City be cutting him soon, much like they did with RB Kareem Hunt?

Chiefs: “The club is aware of the investigation. We’re in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities. We’ll have no further comment at this time.”
4:00 PM: Per Aaron Wilson, the Browns have re-signed veteran CB Phillip Gaines.

Also, in other semi-big news, the Miami Dolphins traded QB Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans.
1:33 PM: The Browns have made another signing this afternoon: OT Kendall Lamm. He’s not breaking the bank with his contract, but he’s getting a fair deal — something that indicates he could compete for a starting role. In fact, he started 13 games at right tackle for the Houston Texans last year and had a decent pass-blocking grade.
Kendall Lamm two-year Browns contract worth over $7 million, according to a league source. Good deal for former Texans starter

11:12 AM: A big blow to the Browns, as the Milwaukee Brewers have acquired QB Baker Mayfield.

11:02 AM: For whatever reason, the Browns appeared to completely sour on the thought of bringing DB Briean Boddy-Calhoun back this season; he was originally a restricted free agent, but the team chose not to tender him. Now, he is signing a 1-year deal with the Houston Texans, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Former #Browns CB Briean Boddy-Calhoun signed a 1-year deal with the #Texans, source said. He started 15 games over the past two seasons.

10:57 AM: The news is in — RB Kareem Hunt will miss half the season with his suspension. Hunt will not appeal. With the news on the length of the suspension, now GM John Dorsey has to decide if he wants to get trade away RB Duke Johnson.
The #Browns had expected 8 to 10 games for RB Kareem Hunt when they signed him. It turns out to be 8, as the league says Hunt accepts the punishment and did not appeal.

8:10 AM: Here’s something that is pretty cool — you can already pre-order your very own bobblehead of WR Odell Beckham Jr in a Browns uniform! It is $45 through FOCO.

8:00 AM: Good morning, Browns fans! Something we didn’t mention yesterday afternoon was this tweet from CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, who commented on the trade status of DE Emmanuel Ogbah and RB Duke Johnson:
Browns actively shopping Ogbah as has been noted but its more likely they wait on dealing Duke Johnson until they have more clarity on Kareem Hunt's status. Official word from the league on that suspension could come as soon as this week
