Josh Allen is the best player available, and also fills a position of need for the NY Jets. They nearly landed Anthony Barr, until he had a change of heart. Now they can get a pass rusher at the top of the draft with Josh Allen, who most likely projects as an OLB in the Jets 3-4 system.

Allen has tremendous flexibility and a record of self-improvement. His improvement from 2017 to 2018 was remarkable and the Jets will expect a similar commitment to self improvement as he integrates in the NFL. Most notably, he’ll have to work on his technique - especially with his counters and hand technique. When he perfects his technique, his tremendous motor and athleticism could make him a top tier NFL OLB. His superior flexibility also makes him viable in pass coverage, enabling him to be a 3-down LB imposing uncertainty on opposing teams blocking/route running schemes.
