With this year’s first round draft pick, the Falcons are looking to bolster their defensive and offensive lines, specifically at tackle. While it was tempting to select one of the high quality OT prospects still on the board, I believe the Falcons can wait to address this position later in the draft, so I am selecting Christian Wilkins from Clemson. Wilkins is a versatile defensive tackle who is capable of becoming an immediate starter for the Falcons. He possesses the athleticism to be a disruptive run stopper, provide adequate pass rushing, and is able to drop into coverage from his tackle position. He also has college experience at Defensive End. He is a player who can contribute much to the Falcons defense, not only as a player but as a high character leader as well.

Pokorny: “This may not be a sexy pick for the Falcons, but it’s a solid one for a team looking to get better in the trenches after being in the Super Bowl two years ago.”
