I was surprised with quite a few of the picks up until this point. My first inclination was that Bill Belichick would shop the 5th year option on Jeffrey Simmons, but the Seahawks scooped him up early. My second idea was whichever Iowa tight end was left, but coincidentally, the Seahawks also spoiled that hope. My third inclination would still be to trade down for something, but for the sake of this mock, I think Dalton Risner is his kind of player.

The problem is that the Patriots lost Malcolm Brown and have yet to re- sign Danny Shelton, presenting a need for a defensive tackle and the selection of Dexter Lawrence. It makes too much sense even for Bill to pass up.
